Overview

License To Kill is a game mode in which any hit (with any weapon) causes death, regardless of health and/or armor. License to kill mode can be enabled on a server by typing "ge_ltk 1" into the console of your server.

Tidbits

  • In GE64, this includes hits to a player's weapon, however in GoldenEye: Source, hits against the player's weapon hit box are not counted.
  • The mode's name comes from the 2nd Timothy Dalton movie, like some of the other modes' names.

Issues

In GE:S, especially in Beta, Liscence To Kill can be frustrating. Hits to the opponent, more often than not, will not register. The player can unload several shotgun blasts to the chest before the opponent actually dies. For this reason, many chose to avoid the Liscence to Kill game mode.

Another issue is spawn killing. In a game with a large number of players, one often spawns in the middle of a firefight causing him to instantly die. The player does not even have a chance to get his weapon out. This can easily be avoided, however, by limiting the server to a few players.
